About Choral Arts West
Clavis Ballard - Director
Clavis Ballard, a retired instrumental music teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, earned both his Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master of Arts Degree in music at California State University, Los Angeles.
Over the years Mr. Ballard has been a member of various community orchestras. Additionally, he served as choir director for the First Presbyterian Church of Inglewood, and the United Methodist Male Chorus. Currently, Mr. Ballard directs the Testimonial Cathedral Jubilee Choir and Choral Arts West.
Peter Roberts - Accompanist
Peter Roberts is a native of New York City where he received his musical development . Mr. Roberts graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a B.A. degree. Piano was his major under Leon Kushner. He has over 55 years of experience in sacred and secular music as a teacher, church director of music, choir director, organist, pianist, and composer/arranger.
Mr. Roberts is presently Director of Music at Christ Temple Church of Christ in Los Angeles, California and pianist for Choral Arts West.
